ACCA September 2015: Making the most of opportunities that present themselves

In September 2015 ACCA will be offering an additional exam session, which will be followed in 2016 by the introduction of four exam sessions a year.

The September 2015 exam session presents an opportunity for trainees; giving you much greater flexibility in how ACCA exams are studied for and taken: ACCA September 2015 exam session

ACCA say that they are making our exams more flexible for students, so it’s easier to fit your exams around your lifestyle.  Students also now have an opportunity to take resits faster – which is something I will come back to later. Other students may use the new sessions to maximise their chances of success by spreading their workload over the additional exam sessions (rather than sit two exam papers per sitting, individuals can still clear four papers per year by sitting (and concentrating on) one paper per exam session), whilst others may opt to take an additional exam each year as a result of being able to better structure their studies.

One thing which is clear is that you will have more control over your workload. You decide whether to sit one exam per session; two per session; or miss a session completely.

What is important however is to consider the period from exam results to the next exam session – typically 6 and 7 weeks. If you don’t achieve the score you wanted, and you are already studying for another paper, have you got the right type and level of support around you to ‘resit’ the paper in the condensed timescales?

We (HTFT) are excited about the greater flexibility offered by ACCA’s additional exam session and will be running full courses for F6, F7, F8, P2, P6 and P7 to the September session along with revision style courses for all papers to cater for those individuals looking to resit faster and drive their success.
